6 Months AKA: Half Birthday!

It is hard to believe Caitlynn is already 6 months old (182 days).  It doesn't seem like it's been that long.  She is incredibly smart and changes from week to week.  She can now sit mostly on her own, she still has the occasional balance struggle. Cait rolls all over the place and is never where you laid her down. She turns her head for new noises... she recognizes the sound of the garage door opening when Brett gets home and turns her head to look at him. She weighed in at 15lbs 9.2oz at her 6 month check up.  She is 26" long according to the doctor (she measures 28" at home).  She is 75% for height, 50% for weight, and 40% for head.  She is right on track.  We started solid foods and carrots are the favorite so far. She liked the peaches and wasn't a big fan of the mangos (they say it takes 15 times before they really decide if they like something or not).  Cait is still deciding if she likes being fed via spoon - she doesn't open her mouth easily, but that will get better.  She is still sleeping through the night, even if she is putting up a fight at bedtime.  We are implementing some new rules to hopefully help with that, including nap time in our crib (unless we are out somewhere, then exceptions can be made).  Today we started nap time in our crib, and she wasn't pleased.... needless to say the current score is Mommy-1, Cait-0.  We will see how this continues to go.

Cait really is smart and has certain things figured out.  She knows what the lotion looks like and she wiggles and giggles when she sees it after her bath.  She has started using a sippy cup and is able to get water out of it (she mostly uses it to chew on, but she's quite content with it).

Cait loves Monkeys and is intrigued by all monkey toys.  We went to the zoo recently and she was awake for the whole zoo trip and she looked at the animals, she enjoyed the monkeys.  We go and see Granny and Awesome Pawsome quite often, she has learned how to play in the faucet with AP, and yesterday he showed her how to stomp puddles.  Today we went there and we were going to go run a quick errand with Granny before we went in, but AP came out to say hi.  Needless to say, Cait ended up staying with AP because she threw a fit when he tried to leave and she was reaching for him and everything.  What a silly Goose.

We are hoping to see Nana and Papa at the end of the month - we will see what happens.

I guess that's all for now.  If nothing else, you'll hear from me again at 7 months.

Until Then~
